bristol with kids, community garden, barton hill
The other day a friend and I took our kiddos up to the Barton Hill walled garden. It is a project that my friend had been attending for a few weeks and I'd heard to many of her positive stories about the place I was eager to check it out myself.

It's a really fantastic iniative that helps so many in the community but on top of that it's the perfect place to let you toddlers run free and explore nature! Whilst we were there we planted seeds, sat in wooden and stick houses, visited a compost toilet and ate a delicious lunch. We even came home with a marrow and some courgettes!

I love that living in a city we can still experience places like this where we can teach our children about growing veg and the process of tending to plants. For a 50p donation we were also treated to a freshly picked lunch of salad with bread and cheese and much needed filter coffee too!

If you are in the area you really should check it out. You can find more info here.

  1. I really love the idea of camping, bug hunt and natural art. I wish that someday I can get my daughter to do it along with my wife. I do believe that children which is introduce on nature will have wider perspective, creative and brave. Thank you.
